09/07/2009  HOTEL TO BE BUILT WITH TITANIC THEME

    It has been revealed that a hotel is to be built with the well-known Titanic in mind. The property will be constructed in place of the old headquarters of the Belfast shipyard. The listed building, Harland & Wolff headquarters, will be transformed into a beautiful boutique hotel. The property is due to consist of 90 bedrooms. It has been said that the project is part of a redevelopment of 185 acres of former shipyard land. This area was named the Titanic Quarter, after the heartbreaking story of how the liner sank on its maiden voyage in 1912, which caused the tragic deaths of more than 1,500 people.

    The hotel, at Queen's Island in east Belfast, is set to include various facilities, services and amenities to ensure guests have a fantastic experience and are completely satisfied. Visitors will be able to take a dip in the property's gorgeous swimming pool, those wishing to keep fit can take advantage of the gym and others will be able to relax and unwind in the spa. Officials are confident that the new hotel will attract many tourists as the Titanic has always been a great interest to people around the globe. This building is set to be great for the Northern Ireland tourism industry.

    It has been revealed that hundreds of millions of pounds is being spent on the redevelopment of 185 acres of former shipyard land. The developments include the construction of commercial, residential and educational properties. The Belfast Metropolitan College and the Public Records Office is one of the buildings. The Tall Ships Festival, which has recently been held, drew almost 500,000 to Belfast's waterfront in a mere three days. Developers predict that the Titanic Signature Project could draw around 400,000 visitors each and every year.
