09/14/2009  MARRIOTT INTERNATIONAL TO LAUNCH THE HARBOUR HOTEL & RESIDENCE

    It has been announced that Marriott International are to add another fantastic property to their ever growing portfolio. The Harbour Hotel & Residence has been scheduled to open on the 15th September this year. The new property is 52-stories high and is due to consist of 232 rooms. The Harbour Hotel & Residence, which is at the entrance of Dubai Marina, will be an incredible addition and a great step for Marriott. The hotel will become part of the Marriott International group under a recently concluded agreement with Emirates airline and Group, who will retain ownership of the property.

    All involved are excited that the Harbour Hotel & Residence will become the first upmarket Marriott-branded hotel in the city. This agreement is the second between Emirates airline and Group and Marriott as an agreement was recently signed and finalised by the two companies for Marriott to operate the 1,614-room JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, which is currently under-construction. Ed Fuller, President & Managing Director of International Lodging for Marriott International has said that his company has an excellent, long-standing relationship with Emirates airline and Group.

    The Dubai Marriott Harbour Hotel & Suites is due to feature an assortment of different types of rooms, such as studio rooms, one-, two- and three-bedroom suites and four-bedroom penthouses. All of the suites provide guests with high-speed internet access, a flat-screen and high definition television, in-room mini-bar and safe along with luxurious bed and bath amenities and linens. Those travelling on business will be able to make use of the 646 square foot board room, which will be perfect for small meetings. There is set to be an outdoor swimming pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre and a spa that will offer an array of treatments.
