09/16/2009  MORE HOTELS PLANNED BY MARRIOTT FOR ASIA

    Marriott International have already planned to launch 37 new hotels but an additional 21 are now set to open by 2013. This shows how the hotel operator and franchisor is growing rapidly and proves that they are exceptionally successful. An extra 21 properties will mean that an extra 7,000 rooms will be available in Asia. It has been said that the original 37 properties are set to add 9,400 guestrooms to the company's Asian portfolio as it is and therefore the total number of rooms will be 110,000 globally after all of the 58 properties have opened.

    Marriott will have a great presence in Asia after these hotels have been constructed as they will then have 154 properties being operated in the world's largest and most populous continent. Asia is set to have a total of 51,000 rooms in 18 different countries as soon as the hotels are built. This will mean they are due to be one of the largest and leading international hotel operators in all of India, Thailand, and China. The properties that Marriott are planning include two JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts, which will be located in Sanya and Dalian, China. It has been revealed that ten full service Marriott hotels will be located in China, Thailand, and the Philippines two full service, upmarket and luxurious Renaissance Hotels and Resorts will be also be opening their doors in China.
