07/29/2009  THE NEW RITZ CARLTON CHARLOTTE WILL ACCEPT RESERVATIONS FROM TODAY

    The Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte, North Carolina will today begin to take reservations for the hotel that is due to open its doors in a few months time on 1st October. The new, modern Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Wellness Centre has been designed so that it can achieve LEED Gold certification. The 146-room property will feature a 13,000 square-foot penthouse Wellness Centre with Aqua Lounge and swimming pool, a BLT Steak restaurant that will be street-side as well as 12,000 square-feet of meeting and conference space.

    The hotel is very focused on the environment and therefore has many features to show this, such as complimentary parking for Hybrid vehicles, staff uniforms made of fabric derived from renewed plastic bottle materials, plant irrigation using captured rainwater along with a fantastic air transfer system that circulates outside air into guest rooms at 60 cubic-feet per minute. An in-house water purification and container system that will redirect 73,000 plastic bottles from landfills, save over 104 barrels of oil, abolish almost 49 tons of CO2 emissions and save approximately 605,000,000 BTUs of electricity each year, will also be a feature.

    The new Ritz-Carlton will be located in Charlotte's popular uptown, close to the city's sports, entertainment and business destinations. Charlotte, which is North Carolina's largest city, is a perfect area to build a hotel of this kind. The city has many stunning attractions and is a great place for tourists to visit. There are some gorgeous museums, historic sites, cinemas, American restaurants and much more. Charlotte is fast becoming a major U.S financial centre and is the home to the Bank of America.
