Alila Solo, Java, reflects spirit of the place through batik art

Alila Solo is an urban resort and city retreat located on Java, Indonesia. Located at the gateway of Surakarta (Solo), the royal centre of the ancient Javanese kingdoms, the city is renowned for its rich court arts and rituals. Eight towers of accommodation surround the main hotel tower, positioned to create a star-like pattern of interior corridors. A palette of stone – marble, travertine and granite – is softened by light-coloured woods and eloquent accents such as batik motifs. A floating batik-inspired sculpture presents a striking centrepiece in the high-ceilinged lobby.

Guest rooms rise from level seven upwards, ensuring wonderful views of the city for all.

The hotel is also home to a rooftop terrace bar, with panoramic views of the city, from the temples and volcanoes through to the surrounding jungle. Alila Solo’s facilities include a restaurant, serving authentic Indonesia food and creative Western fare and lounge bar, a Spa Alila with three treatment rooms, a state of the art gym, wellness centre, expansive swimming pool and sun deck and a Kid’s Club. Mice facilities include a 2100 sqm ballroom, complete with the latest in audio and visual and fifteen meeting rooms.
