Hacienda San Joaquín, a 74-acre estate with a 40-stall community equestrian center and a partially complete boutique hotel, will be sold at auction without reserve by Elite Auctions on June 10, 2017. Located within a 663-acre master-planned ranch, Hacienda San Joaquín is surrounded by the Andes Mountains and Vilcabamba River.

“Vilcabamba, Ecuador is one of the most tranquil, remarkable places in the world, with a spring-like climate year round that preserves the lush greenery blanketing the mountainside. Hacienda San Joaquín redefines peace and tranquility for anyone that’s looking to live, retire or vacation in Ecuador,” said Randy Haddaway, President and Founder of Elite Auctions. “Ecuador received 36 nominations for this year’s World Travel Awards™ – the country is having its moment right now. The buyer of Hacienda San Joaquín will own their own personal piece of paradise, along with a customizable luxury equestrian resort and auspicious residential community.”

Hacienda San Joaquín’s picturesque grounds boast a 31,000-square-foot orchard garden with citrus trees, organic vegetable gardens, a stone museum, a tilapia pond and two scenic lakes. A new community equestrian center includes 40 world-class, state-of-the-art horse stalls, a training arena, a merchandise store, a café and room for storage.

The owner’s estate is an elaborate 8,300-square-foot, six bedroom retreat situated on 15.1-acres of lush, green land. Oversized windows throughout the home provide unobstructed views of the Andes Mountain range and flood each room with natural light. Entertainment and leisure rooms within the estate include a spa and massage space, a wine cellar and a fitness center. Attached to the home are a two-bedroom guest house with a three-car garage and a private 10-stall horse stable with a storage room. The rear of the home features tennis and volleyball courts and an outdoor brick oven.

On the property, a 32,000-square-foot boutique hotel designed with 22 suites is 60 percent complete, allowing a new owner to tailor the final details to their preferences. Twenty-five additional home sites are zoned to support the development of single family houses, all with mountain and river views.

Additional onsite buildings include a 250-person stadium, an equestrian, and hiking center and a sales office with an attached apartment and water reservoirs. Included in the sale are 16 Peruvian horses, a breed that’s known for its smooth ride and agreeable temperament, as well as all of the necessary riding equipment.

Hacienda San Joaquín was developed by Joe Simonetta, who carefully mapped the 663-acre community with divided property lines, mixed-use zoning as well as accessible water and electricity. A gatehouse is manned 24/7 at the development’s entrance, providing security for the community.

Hacienda San Joaquin is easily accessible via international airports in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, or in Guayaquil, the largest city in Ecuador. Upon arrival in Ecuador, guests take a short flight to Loja, which is 90 minutes from the property. The ranch is approximately two miles and a 10-minute drive from the internationally renowned village of Vilcabamba, which is known the jewel of Ecuador.
