On Wednesday 12th August, 2015, Kämp Group opened its ninth hotel, with the launch of Lilla Roberts in downtown Helsinki, Finland. The building now housing the 130-room hotel was originally designed by renowned Finnish architect Selim A. Lindqvist to serve as the head offices and a power station of Helsinki Energy and over the years has also housed a former police station. The hotel conversion was signed by architect Jaakko Puro, who took on the task in 2013.

Apart from having the newest rooms in town, the hotel features modern conference facilities, a charming courtyard and an outdoor terrace. It also houses the Krog Roba restaurant, offering all the good things that the Nordic kitchen has to offer, but with a strong Helsinki accent. The kitchen of the Krog Roba is run by Karri Knaapila together with Benjamin Frostell and Teemu Laurell.

The Lilla E. bar brings new creativity to the Finnish cocktail world, breaking the boundaries and making cocktails with a gastronomic touch. Bartenders Pekka Välitalo, Turo Kotajärvi and Jarkko Issukka, are known for their successful bars, such as Grotesk, American Bar, Trillby & Chadwick, and the Kellobaari lounge at the Teatteri Restaurant.

Taking center stage in the service philosophy of Lilla Roberts is the Nordic “hygge” thinking. Hygge is originally a Danish concept, referring to all that is good and pleasant in life. Hygge means good food with friends, the warmth of a fireplace, and peace of mind. Hygge is also laughter, relaxation, and good conversation.
