NCC and Liseberg amusement park, through the development company Liseberg Skår AB, have signed a contract for an expansion including a destination hotel with 457 rooms, located at the Nordic region’s largest amusement park. The order value is approximately SEK 850 million.

The assignment – a partnering arrangement between NCC and Liseberg – was initiated in 2018. Since then, the parties have worked together to plan, budget and design the documentation for an expansion of the amusement park, including a destination hotel, a water park and parking facilities. The parties have now agreed on a target price for the destination hotel and completed certain infrastructure work and ground-level parking facilities.

“This is an exciting assignment that we are now moving into the next phase. A partnering arrangement with a solid planning period offers an optimal work method for complex and major construction projects and enables a better final product. We are delighted that NCC will be part of the expansion of the most popular destination in the Nordic region,” says Henrik Landelius, Business Area Manager of NCC Building Sweden.

The themed destination hotel will be built at the amusement park’s southern entrance and will be encompass 30,000 square meters, featuring 457 rooms. Construction will begin in the autumn and is scheduled to be completed for Liseberg’s 100th anniversary in 2023.

The parties also plan to construct a water park. The target price for this part of the project is expected to be approved by Liseberg’s Board of Directors in 2020.

The construction contract for the destination hotel of approximately SEK 850 million will be registered among orders in the fourth quarter of 2019 in the NCC Building Sweden business area.
