The Penthouse features unobstructed views of Table Mountain, Robben Island, Devils Peak, Lions Head and the Cape Town Harbour from floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive outdoor terraces. The incredible interior of The One Above spans an impressive 1,275m²/13,724ft² across two floors. It comprises four spacious ensuite bedrooms, three lounges each offering a different ambience, a stylish library, quiet reading corner, handsome study with fireplace, fully-equipped gym and sauna, beautiful kitchen and scullery with private service entrance, a formal dining area, breakfast and coffee area, an informal dining and relaxation lounge, along with two separate outdoor entertainment spaces – both with a private pool, inspiring views and BBQ facilities.
The study, library, gym and bedrooms are situated on the first floor of The One Above with the dining areas, lounges and kitchens located upstairs on the second floor accessed via a grand marble staircase with glass balustrade. There are large outdoor spaces on both floors offering 360° views and spaces for groups of friends or multi-generational families travelling together to entertain simultaneously but separately – each area is exclusive and independent. The first-floor deck is the larger of the two, and includes an outdoor shower, private pool, bar, BBQ and catering area, long dining table and pool loungers. The second floor has a wrap-around terrace, also with its own private pool, as well as water feature, BBQ area and seating. The layout of the Penthouse is predominantly open plan, allowing a natural flow between living spaces and maximising the space and light. Floor-to-ceiling glass windows throughout frame the spectacular city views. The style is modern contemporary, an impressive art collection adorns the walls and spaces, and all furniture and accessories have been individually selected for their quality, aesthetic and comfort. The One Above is thoughtfully decorated with small details and touches, allowing guests to enjoy moment after moment of discovery and providing a residential, luxury ambiance. Features include a black grand piano to entertain or be entertained, state-of-the-art appliances including a professional coffee machine and temperature-controlled glass wine cellar which can house over 280 bottles, hand-selected for guests by one of the resort’s expert sommeliers.
The One Above can sleep up to eight adults; each of the four luxuriously appointed bedrooms feature ensuite bathrooms and unobstructed views of Table Mountain and the waterways below. Every bedroom is bespoke in look and finish and offers guests a considered private area and quiet resting space. The Master Bedroom is a bold statement of absolute luxury and grace, spanning 107 m2 /1,152 ft². It has its own private terrace, comfortable seating areas, walk-in wardrobe, ample and considered storage space, large bed and a lavish marble his-and-hers ensuite bathroom complete with dual vanity, separate showers, and a Jacuzzi tub with mountain views. This glamorous space is completed with a fireplace, mirrors and opulent fabrics and finishes to make for the ultimate private retreat.
Two of the additional bedrooms open out onto their own private terrace. Decorated with a contrasting but complementary aesthetic, one is beautiful, elegant and light – complete with a wall of mirrors, housing a substantial wardrobe behind, while the other boasts dark wood, leather and plush finishings. A notable feature within the ensuite of the fourth sophisticated bedroom, are the tiny twinkling lights above the bath – giving guests the illusion of bathing under the stars.
