Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah, Istanbul’s most iconic hotel, is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. To mark the occasion, the hotel has unveiled a special 125th-anniversary package which offers guests a unique chance to step back in time and experience its glamorous history.

The anniversary package features an exclusive tour of the hotel, where guests will have an opportunity to ride in Turkey’s oldest electric elevator and visit the many sites which honour the famous guests who have stayed at the hotel. The Agatha Christie Suite, formally Room 411, is where the literary giant is rumoured to have written her novel Murder On The Orient Express and there is even a replica of her typewriter on the desk. Pera Palace Hotel Jumeirah was granted ‘museum-hotel’ status in 1981 when, as a tribute to the founder of modern Turkey, Room 101 was converted into the Atatürk Museum. Guests will be able to visit this museum which features a collection of his personal belongings and significant items relating to the early 20th century period.

The package includes accommodation in a deluxe Pera View room and a complimentary 125th Year themed tasting menu for two at the Belle Epoque a Pasha Restaurant, the hotel’s newest restaurant. The restaurant’s new menu continues the historical theme for the anniversary year, re-imagining dishes from the hotel’s 1920s and 30s menus with a modern twist. Breakfast at the Agatha restaurant and a 10% discount at Pera SPA by SPA Soul are also included.

To further celebrate this landmark year, there will be an array of art and cultural events taking place throughout the year. Weekly Saturday morning concerts are taking place in the Grand Pera Ballroom with performances from world-class musicians, and the ballroom will host a special concert on 15 April showcasing the history of the hotel. The hotel is also creating an English version of the sold-out immersive play, ‘The Time of Pera,’ where guests can embark on a journey through time in rooms that bear the names of iconic guests.

Situated in Istanbul’s vibrant Beyoglu district, Pera Palace Hotel combines timeless elegance with genuine Turkish hospitality. Today, the hotel retains its unique heritage but provides guests with a uniquely modern touch, epitomising the cultural variety of cosmopolitan Istanbul. The well-appointed 115 rooms and suites retain the classic characteristics of the 19th century, with many suites inspired by the famous guests who made this hotel their home.
