Phum Baitang, a village resort in Cambodia

September 1st 2015 saw the opening of Phum Baitang resort in Cambodia, the latest addition to the French luxury hotel group Zannier.

Phum Baitang , which means “the green village”, transports the guest back to a true Cambodian village atmosphere.

The property features 45 private villas designed to resemble Cambodian houses, set among plantations of verdant lemongrass.

There resort also has two restaurants, Bay Phsar, “Rice Market”, and Hang Bay, “Rice Shop”. Both servelocally-inspired meals prepared using fresh organic herbs and vegetables from the resort’s own gardens.

At the cigar & cocktail lounge guests can sip a location-inspired cocktail while watching the sun set behind the property’s 50m infinity pool.

The Temple Spa offers therapies based on traditional Khmer rituals as well as Tibetan, Swedish or Ayurvedic massage techniques. It has seven spa treatment rooms, sauna, steam room, relaxation area as well as a yoga pavilion.

This understated  luxury retreat is just a short drive from Siem Reaps’ international airport.
