Targeted to open in 2019, the property will be located in the centre of the city’s new municipal area, bringing a brand new international luxurious hospitality experience to Zhoushan.

Encompassing 38,516 square metres of land with a construction floor area of over 30,000 square metres, Shangri-La Hotel, Zhoushan will present approximately 300 well-appointed guestrooms and suites with panoramic city views, three restaurants, one lounge, meeting and convention spaces of approximately 2,000 square metres, a health club with spa and swimming pool, plus leisure and family facilities.

Ideal for business and leisure travelers, the hotel is only 20 minutes away from the airport and the ferry port leading to Mount Putuo, which has been a pilgrimage site for over a thousand years and is one of the four holy mountains in Chinese Buddhism.

“We are excited about the opportunity to invest in and manage a property in Zhoushan,” said Shangri-La President and CEO Greg Dogan.

“With this project Shangri-La will further extend our brand portfolio in southeastern China. We look forward to bringing new standards of luxury and Shangri-La’s hallmark hospitality from the heart to Zhoushan.”

Only a 90-minutes drive from Ningbo and separated from the mainland by a narrow body of water, Zhoushan consists solely of islands and lies across the mouth of the Hangzhou Bay.
Traditionally being the largest fishery in China, its economic base has been largely diversified with the development of secondary and tertiary industries in recent years.
