The luxury, boutique hotel brand, the MRK Hotel Collection, along with 5Church Charlotte, Sophia’s Lounge and several local non-profits have partnered to celebrate the The Ivey’s Hotel’s official grand opening this month with a week full of public events from July 31 to August 3 taking place at the Collections’ newest property in Uptown, Charlotte.

Situated just north of the historic Trade and Tryon Street intersection in Uptown, the property features 42 guest rooms, including three balcony suites overlooking Tryon Street and six executive suites, steps away from all the city’s major attractions. The MRK Hotel Collection saw the need for a true, luxury boutique hotel in the market and within just four months since being open, the new property has already met with rave reviews from leisure and business travelers, making the hotel a welcomed new leader and top destination in the South.

The Ivey’s Hotel, along with 5Church Charlotte and Sophia’s Lounge will be the hosts of the week-long Grand Opening celebrations from Monday, July 31 to Thursday, August 3 at the Ivey’s building (127 North Tryon Street). A photo installation will be open to the public daily from 8:00am – 10:00pm, showcasing some never-before-seen historic photos of Charlotte and the former Ivey’s Department Store supplied by the Ivey’s family and the Mint Museum.

Raffle tickets will be available for purchase throughout the week for the chance to win The Ivey’s Hotel Luxury Package which includes a weekend stay at the Ivey’s, and gift cards to the Désirant Shop, Sophia’s Lounge and 5Church Charlotte. All proceeds from the raffle and partial hotel revenues from the week will go to benefit partner non-profit charities, which include the Mint Museum, Greater Charlotte SPCA, EmpowHERment, Second Harvest, 100 Gardens and Bahailu Academy.

“Being a boutique hotel in one of the few remaining Charlotte historic buildings, we saw this event as an opportunity to highlight not only the rich history of this building and its people, but to also give back to charities that are doing wonderful things in our community today,” says the Ivey’s Hotels’ Director of Sales and Marketing, Janal Montagna. “At the MRK Hotel Collection, one of our main missions is to connect with our communities at each of our properties located in Charlotte, Asheville and Miami. With that goal in mind, we thought it would be ideal if we extended our grand opening to a week-long schedule of events including as many non-profit partners as possible to try to make the biggest impact.”
